I’ve been doing through personal documents, searching for clues. Nothing useful for here and now, unfortunately.
But what do you think Charles and Erik were doing in 2007, visiting Canouan for the weekend, where they were able to “explore where their opinions had begun to diverge, and where they joined again”?

Just about Erik's time there?

I heard a lot of these same words. Some when I was a child, but a lot when we were in Genosha ourselves. Erik wants us to be based in Genosha. He couldn’t ask Charles anymore, so he asked me.

But you're right, of course.

It's interesting that he was talking to Charles about this already. I feel like there's no way he's not up to something.

I admire him for a lot of things, but Erik is always up to something. Whether or not it is a great move for Genosha, or… he’s back to his old ways, I can’t say. The letters don’t say anything I didn’t already know, and I don’t know what Charles said to him.

It's kind of sad they had to skate around it like this. Do you think when the Professor wakes up we should very gently tell him we don't care if he has a boyfriend.

You're right, of course. Nothing for us to do unless he actually acts on something, I suppose. [...] Does their conversation bother you at all? I know you've been having difficult, mixed feelings about all sorts of things recently.
