Off to Russia we go!

With a little research and preparation, the team is able to locate Piotr Rasputin in the Rublyovka home of Aleksei Andreyev, a Russian oligarch. They travel to Moscow by Blackbird and arrive in the middle of the night.

The X-Men are able to peaceably neutralize the two security guards. Nobody encounters any other residents of the building, except Manuel de la Rocha, who happens upon one of Andreyev's adolescent children getting a midnight snack in the kitchen.

The group locates Piotr in the oligarch's art wing, encased in a shell of inert organic steel. With a basic understanding of how her brother's mutant powers work, Illyana is able to determine that he must be freed from this shell before he can revert to humanform, and determines she will need Magneto's assistance and expertise to accomplish this safely.

genosha

From Moscow, the X-Men return to New York on the Blackbird while Illyana takes Piotr to Genosha, accompanied by Kurt Wagner and [Character C]. After they arrive in Genosha, Magneto is able to free Piotr from his organic steel casing and he is able to revert to humanform. Magneto allows the group to remain in Genosha while Piotr gets his bearings about him, and offers him a spot amongst the Acolytes should he want it.

Although Illyana stays at her home in Genosha for a few days with her brother, she will teleport people between New York and Genosha whenever they want over the weekend.

xavier institute

By Monday, the Rasputins have returned to New York. After Charles Xavier psychically imparts knowledge of the English language on Piotr, Illyana is able to introduce him to the rest of the team.

Shortly after he arrives, Remy Lebeau informs the other team leaders that he's calling dibs on Piotr for Gold Team should he ever want to join up with the X-Men.

On the morning of Thursday 8/7, Ambrose places a mark on Piotr, having been convinced by Emma Frost to wait a respectable five days to allow Piotr time to settle in.

Emma had been fairly confident that Ambrose was going to stick to the agreed upon timeline, but even so it had been something of a relief when he'd actually kept Piotr's mark to himself for a while. Even if he'd done it first thing in the morning today. Still, this is a success in more ways than one, and she's feeling rather satisfied with herself as she sits in the kitchen in the early afternoon, sipping at a coffee. There are still many things to do and sort out, and she should really check in with Illyana, but for now she'll enjoy the quiet.

When Illyana's brother leaves the confines of the mansion, Laura stalks after him, her footsteps soundless on the grass. She can't blame him for wanting a bit of space—the Institute can be overwhelming, not just in its grandeur, but also in the intensity of the people. The X-Men are all very opinionated.

She moves from shadow to shadow, hiding behind the broad old trees of the estate. She doesn't know if Piotr can tell she's on his tail. If Laura wanted to, she could make herself nearly undetectable, but she's more curious than wary when it comes to the newcomer. If he looked back, he could probably see the bright shearling collar of her leather jacket.
