What's Up?
Jimaine Szardos, Kurt's foster sister and sorceress in training, arrives at the institute late on Friday evening. After spending some time catching up with her brother, she goes to bed with the promise to meet with everyone the following day and provide her expertise.

The next morning, that meeting comes with a private brunch in a small sunroom, during which the team recounts everything that's happened. Charles falling into an inexplicable coma, his mind seemingly untethered from his physical body. The marks appearing on his eight original students several weeks later. The strange occurrences that followed them all coming together again. The inconclusive analysis of the marks.

While polite and amiable throughout the discussion, the sorceress is focused and scribbles notes into a leather-bound book in between bites of breakfast potatoes and sips of coffee. Once she's up to speed and everyone's had their fill, she examines each of their marks (if she's permitted) in turn with thoughtful intensity and a tiny bit of prodding.

After the examination, she agrees that there's something distinctly mystical about the marks. Much to her dismay, though, she can't put a name or an origin to them. But she promises to find out more! Even if she has to talk to her mother.

As everything is beginning to wrap up, the marks start to glow again, lighting up one by one just like last time. Unlike the last time, however, the glow remains and they all begin to feel the mark pulsing within their skin. Within moments, they're all unconscious.

The group awakens to a lightly panicking Jimaine and the brunch comes to an awkward close.

Bobby Drake and Manuel de la Rocha offered to prepare brunch and so are up and at work in the kitchen before the others come down. While preparing [dish of choice], Bobby finds themselves falling into what feels like an old habit, only to realize after that they've prepared the dish in a way they never have before. It turns out delicious, but unfamiliar. That was....strange?

During the brunch, Kitty Pryde spots a pair of students seemingly trying to eavesdrop by the door to the sunroom. Get out of here, you snoops! How they handle that is, of course, up to them.

As the event nears its end, Kurt Wagner's mark begins to glow, setting off the cascade that eventually leads to the entire group passing out. Before his consciousness slips away, he begins to feel detached from himself, almost as if he's being pulled out of his body. The feeling has passed when everyone begins to come back around, though. According to Jimaine, they were unconscious for just a few minutes, but in that time she erected a magical barrier in an attempt to interrupt any outside influences, the remnants of which can be seen in the form of bright light still shimmering around the edges of the room.

As the group recovers, they realize that Emma Frost's mark has changed and taken on a similar but distinctly different shape. A follow-up examination from Jimaine doesn't yield anything new, though.

Before Jimaine returns to her room, she subtly pulls Scott Summers off to the side and gives them her phone number, explaining only that she has a sense that she can't shake. That they'll need it in the future. She then returns to her room with Kurt. Was she...serious? Is this how sorceresses flirt? Who knows.
