What's Up?

Time to head off! Emma Frost has arranged a luxurious vacation for the team and today's the day.

Early on Friday morning, everyone is up and dressed and heading out the door for an 8AM flight on a private jet. While they aren't able to leave their troubles completely behind them, the weekend ahead promises the opportunity to experience something different from the everyday, unwind in lavish (if gaudy) surroundings, have a good time making bad decisions, and perhaps even return to New York with a clearer head.

Thousands of miles later, the group departs the jet and hops into a limousine that takes them through the heart of the city. While the weather is cool, the sky is clear and the city shines under the desert sun. Before long, they arrive at the bustling Bellagio Hotel & Casino and are given keys to their respective suites. After breaking off in pairs and settling into their rooms...the rest of the day is theirs!

There are endless shows, bars, casinos, and other attractions in Sin City. Better get to exploring.

Volunteer Slots

Heading downstairs to the front desk to ask about the accommodations, Scott Summers stumbles upon a seemingly intimate conversation.

They spot the woman at the front desk talking to a green-skinned mutant (with less-than-expertly applied makeup attempting to obscure his complexion). The two are almost close enough to share a kiss and looking deeply into each other's eyes. When the man notices Scott, though, he quickly cuts the conversation short and departs, leaving the woman looking flustered.

While passing through the lobby, [Character B] is recognized by a young woman. She approaches them with stars in her eyes and tells them that they're her favorite X-Man and how exciting it is to see them in person! And here of all places!! She asks them to take a selfie with her.

Exploring the city, Kurt Wagner encounters a [street performer of choice] that seems to have drawn inspiration from their X-Man look. That's...flattering? Kind of??

Emma Frost has taken it upon herself to ensure her friends look their best when they arrive in Las Vegas. This includes new additions to their wardrobes that she insists be put on before the plane departs. How is your character feeling about their new look?

Emma won't be offended if someone won't wear what she's picked out for them, but she'll clearly be at least slightly discontent. After all, her choices are impeccable, and she did buy all these things for you. Specifically. With love.

She's sporting a silk dress and barely covers her ass and fur coat, along with some terrifyingly sharp and tall heels, making her a truly formidable height. Her jewelry and her make-up are tasteful but clearly expensive, and she steps out of the jet like she owns the thing. Which, she doesn't own this one. But she owns a different one.

IT'S CALLED FASHION: Kurt

Kurt is genial as always, shaking hands and greeting passers-by and airport employees as they make their way to the jet. This is all fine and good, but he lets himself get too caught up in it, potentially delating takeoff until [character] reminds him they're on a schedule. He hastily says goodbyes and teleports the two of them away.

He dresses in what Emma gave him, an open silk shirt and straight black trousers. His hair is done nicely, emphasizing its waves. The only thing he added to her vision is a small cross necklace; old, studded with crystals.

IT'S CALLED FASHION: Manuel

Being presented with expensive, extravagant clothes by Emma Frost is nothing new for Manuel and he's as pleased as ever to accept. The suit is a bit more than he'd typically choose on his own with its intricate pearl embellishments on the lapels, but it's finely made and fits like a dream, so what's not to like? He knows he looks good in it and he silently relishes in the attention it draws as he makes his way through the airport.

...And maybe gives that admiration a subtle boost too. Just for fun.

He makes a point of avoiding his public figure teammates until they're aboard, though. He doesn't want that type of attention.

IT'S CALLED FASHION: Scott

Scott would've worn anything he was given, but is pleased to discover that Emma selected an on-theme but understated black suit for him. He's too tall not to stand out when they all move through a crowd, but it grants him some reassurance to know people will look at his flashier teammates first.

Walking at the back of the group, Scott keeps an eye out for any approaching danger (and occasionally steals glances at Jean).

IT'S CALLED FASHION: Kitty

Kitty had every intention of not wearing an Emma-provided dress, because she had the distinct impression her dear friend would pull out toddler romper and say she thought that was exactly her style just to prove a point. To Emma's credit, she didn't, and Kitty even sort of likes the long-sleeved black dress with chaotic pearl beading that resembles epaulettes. She compromises by arriving to the airport in a big sweatshirt and leggings, but changes on the plane. She even brushes her hair into waves and adds high black boots. It's just honestly, who wears this short of a dress for six hours on a plane anyway?

Kitty moves easily through the crowd, as she does through all obstacles, and doesn't even have to be reminded that she has to go through security the human way.

IT'S CALLED FASHION: Bobby

The extensively beaded white suit is probably the most expensive outfit Bobby's been made to wear since his Bar Mitzvah and he's paired it with sneakers that may or may not make Emma want to strangle him — meanwhile, he claims they 'really pull the look together.'

He loves being dressed up because it means he's been thought about, and he loves being thought about most of all because it means he Has People! He's doing his best job of pretending he belongs here; he's just very pleased that everyone's in the same place again, even if it's for unfortunate reasons.

ON THE JET

The flight from New York to Las Vegas is about six hours. How is your character killing time? Any in transit scenes can go here. The jet in question is a Bombardier Challenger 3500.

ON THE JET: Fix Bobby's Life (OPEN++)

Bobby tosses his phone onto the ottoman with a melodramatic sigh — he's left it open to a SuperLike profile and yes, that was deliberate. He's not here to solve his own problems!!!

"It's too hard, can't I just go on The Gay Mutant Bachelor or something?"

ON THE JET: Jean & Evie

While everyone else wrestled over Bobby's phone at one side of the cabin, Jean flops down on a sofa at the back besides Evie. She's in a sullen little mood which she's trying to conceal, but as always, her heart is on her sleeve. She pokes at her own phone for a few seconds before glancing over at Evie.

"Have you ever considered doing a Vegas residency?" she asks.

THE BELLAGIO

The team arrives at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino by the afternoon. Any scenes that involve checking in or otherwise hanging around the hotel can go here.

THE BELLAGIO: Manuel & Bobby Share a Suite

Once the team has checked into the Bellagio and scattered to their separate suites, Manuel spends only a few minutes admiring the amenities and the view of the sprawling city beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows before getting to the work unpacking. He's predictably meticulous. Clothes hung and tucked into drawers. Toiletries lined up in the bathroom. Everything put in its place. Once he's done and satisfied with his temporary arrangement, though, his thoughts turn to his...suitemate?

He wonders if Bobby's made a mess or an ice sculpture yet. He wonders if the man is thinking about the last time they shared a hotel room. This thought gives him the briefest of pauses before he smiles to himself and focuses his empathic sense on his friend's familiar pattern. Even in this crowded hotel, he's easy to pick out. They all are.

Sauntering out of his room and across their shared living room, he leans through Bobby's door without announcing himself and glances around until he spies the other man.

"...So. What do you think?"

Emma, in her infinite wisdom (and money), has booked the group table service at La Jolla Nightclub, where they arrive at 10:30pm for some drinking and dancing. One or two drinks deep already (thanks, Manny), she downs a glass of champagne before reaching out and grabbing a hand.

"It's time to dance, darling."

AROUND LAS VEGAS: Mandalay Bay Aquarium & Open

Kurt is kneeling, arms crossed on the wooden bar keeping guests away from the glass where a dozen sharks sleepily do their rounds through the water. He's kneeling because he's surrounded by ten or so children telling him Important Shark Facts. Several of them could never pass as human, all the while their parents hovering nearby.

But Kurt catches a familiar face out of the corner of his eye, and rises to his feet.

"I'm very sorry to leave you, but work calls," he tells the crowd with a bright grin.

There's been a lot of dancing and a lot of drinking for Emma tonight, all of it leaving her happy and open and playful. It's at this point in the evening, armed with a tipsiness that makes her bolder than usual, that she seeks out Scott. She comes up behind where he's seated, giving him a light mental brush so as not to surprise him, before she leans down to put her chin on the top of his head, her hands resting on either side of him on the back of the chair.
