Outfit vibes approximately Black Sails Anne Bonny, with a black duster coat that has contrast stitching in intricate sigils and patterns, pants, and a black broad-rimmed hat. Occupation: Bounty Hunter Relationships: Favored henchman of Marshal Summers, longtime frenemy of Kit, etc. Basic History: This Illyana has been a bounty hunter since she was a teenager. When she was 14 she went on a True Grit style revenge quest/rampage in the wake of the ritualistic murders of the rest of the Rasputin family, in this world a large clan of influential mutant sorcerers. Illyana was the only survivor of this sacrifice, and has since eliminated both the archfiend responsible and his cult of followers. Now she's a bounty hunter and gun for hire working (mostly) on the right side of the law. Horse: A chestnut overo gelding named Demon, this horse lives up to his namesake with everyone else but is Illyana's perfect little baby boy. Anything else?: In this universe her soul was fragmented into twin weapons: a long-barreled, engraved revovler whose bullets are more magic than metal, burnished black and gold in coloring; and a Damascus steel and bone bowie knife about as long as her forearm which functions more like her normal sword. The gun is sort of evil and if it tells her to kill someone she has to do it. Because she can summon both weapons at will, she does not wear holsters for them.

Character Name (367): Kurt Wagner Character Name (1883): Kurt Adler Appearance: Just 14, short (5'4"), and extra wiry. Patches of fur on his legs and torso have been burned away and replaced by scars, but he's still the same blue, shadowy little creature. Out in public he wears a big hat and a large duster jacket that mostly keeps people from noticing how odd he looks. At least at a distance. Does NOT have a German accent. Occupation: Agent of the Hellfire Trading Company Relationships: One of Emma's foundlings, and a troublesome one. Bright, playful, theatrical. Prioritizes his own fun over almost anything else in a sort of mean Peter Pan way, and can't really be trusted unless Emma and/or Kit are there. Does love his fellow Hellions, though. Basic History: Was fished out of a burning building as an infant somewhere in Wyoming, and it was presumed that his parents, Ray and Irene Adler, died tragically in the fire. Kicked around from orphanage to orphanage because of his appearance, and ended up a semi-feral street child who got by stealing from people and smuggling his way onto caravans. Was found hiding in the saloon's attic when he was 11, and Emma took him in. Horse: A young black mustang named Rabbit. She's as spritely as her rider, and the two of them are quick and adaptable. She doesn't scare easily and is used to Kurt teleporting on and off her, but she's easily bored and a little nippy. Likes attention a little too much. Just smart enough to be annoying. Anything else?: A selection of throwing knives and a couple of guns that he trades between his hands and tail. Much better with the knives on account of guns not being made for three fingered hands.
Character Name (367): Paige Guthrie Character Name (1883): Paige Guthrie (I am lazy) Appearance: A few years older, but generally Paige looks the same. Still very country, still very bright-eyed and ready to learn and do good. Honestly, it'll be pretty hard to tell the difference except that, obviously, she dresses like she's in the old west. Occupation: Junior Marshal (part of the X-Men task force) Relationships: She's working under Scott, and is engaged to Some Guy. Basic History: Nothing too drastic here - Paige is from a large family, still from Kentucky, but they're actually doing decently financially and are obviously not rejected for being mutants! Her family is known for having all good powers, a fact that leads to some jealousy but mostly just means they can actually effectively make money. Wanting to be independent and be a force of good, she joined the marshals and was recently assigned to the X-Mne. Horse: Courtesy of JJ, Paige's horse is Daisy Marie. She's good-natured and a quick learner, and she might as well be Paige's best friend. They have long (one-sided) conversations often. Anything else?: A very good shot at long range, and has good marksmanship in general, even while riding.
Character Name (367): Remy Lebeau Character Name (1883): Remy Lebeau Appearance: Generally like himself, although he is less concerned with hiding his eyes in a world where everyone is a mutant. I think he might have a lil poncho as part out of his outfit like so. Occupation: Con man/thief Relationships: Rogue's partner in crime, always. Occasional associate of the Hellfire Trading Company. Basic History: Born in New Orleans and not abandoned as a child because being a mutant is normal in this world. When he was a child his family was swindled for all they were worth by criminal conman Jean-Luc Lebeau. Remy has dedicated his life to exacting revenge against this man, an effort which has mostly involved assuming his name and occupation. Now he travels with his partner, Rogue, taking work where they can. Horse: A big black horse with a blaze named Bandit, who he shares with Rogue. Anything else?: Generally prefers his mutant powers for fighting, although he does have a Winchester rifle too.
Character Name (367): Anna Marie Lebeau (Rogue) Character Name (1883): Anna the Rogue (Still just Rogue) Appearance: She's around the same age as she was at home, so a lot like herself. Her hair's longer, but the white streaks remain. A bit of a flashy dresser for the drama, long light tan leather duster, ruffled green blouse, and a big matching hat. She also wears green leather gloves mostly for propriety's sake. Occupation: Bandit for hire Relationships: Partners in crime with Remy, sometime rivals and also allies with Emma and her group. She's GOTTA have like 603 warrants by now. Basic History: Born in Mississippi, her parents were members of a religious sect that believed that in this world of mutants, the most powerful were there to usher them to glory days. Rogue coming into her powers raised mixed opinions among the group, with half of them thinking she was a Messiah, half the Antichrist. She wanted to be neither, and ran away from them. She made her living thieving, and these days has a partner with whom she terrorizes the whole west. Horse: Shared big black horse with white nose with Remy. The horse is named Bandit just like them. Anything else?: After puzzling out how I was going to do this and psychoanalyzing a fictional character just WAY too much, I think my answer is in every universe where Mystique and Destiny weren't around to turn her powers into tools of terrorism and therefore something she feared, Rogue will find herself in various greater degrees of control of them. That's the case here! She won't be taking any hints about it back to the real world. In a world full of mutants, she loves stealing little swipes of powers and does this MUCH more liberally. She doesn't have Carol Danvers' powers here. She also carries fancy little dueling pistols.

Character Name (367): Warren Worthington III, recently deceased Character Name (1883): Roscoe "Dust Devil" McLaughlin Appearance:A nice old grandpa. Occupation: Stagecoach driver and beloved local figure, a kind soul with ten grandchildren. Relationships: He never cared much for taking a side, but was always generous with the orphans Miss Frost took in. Deep respect for Marshal Summers and all he does for this fine town. Basic History: Eloped with his sweetheart Peggy when the pair were just 20, and they never looked back. They had five children, but only four survived to adulthood. How he's looking after his children and grandchildren, who keep telling him he can retire and spend more time with Peggy. Amiable and well-liked, but drinks a bit too much. Horse: Desdemona, poor girl's on her last legs but he loves her as well as any pet. Anything else?: Warren is so confused and is just trying really hard to be nice to everyone and not forget any names. His mutant power is creating small dust devils that the kids like to play in. Honestly the rest of you have fun he's staying in town. He'll feel so terrible if he gets this old man killed.

It's the evening of their first day, and Emma has done her best to try to gather information about what might be amiss in this strange reality of hers. So far it's yielded nothing, a while getting a chance to ride a horse around again has been satisfying, the lack of information is not.
So she's made her way into the saloon, happy to see a familiar face already there, outside of Kitty.
"Shall I buy you a drink?" she asks Illyana as she comes to a stop by her side. "I think everything here tastes terrible, but it shouldn't make you go blind at least."
The very first thing Rogue does after being psychically briefed by Emma is she strides outside to meet her horse. Maybe not quite continuity, but shouldn't matter too much for the overarching mystery at hand. She and Remy seem to sorta do their own thing in this world, which doesn't bother her in the slightest. Frees up some time to rush to the big animal and stroke his nose. She still wears gloves in this world, but so does almost everybody, so it's impossible to tell if her powers are more under control in these olden times. Wouldn't risk the chance on this very big baby, anyway. So, out of habit from the cats, she kisses her own covered fingers and hopes he'll get the message.
"Think I remember you get to ride on the back of the horse, I'm front." She decides aloud to Remy, over her shoulder.

Emma's face is pressed into the back of Scott's shoulder, legs forcefully tangled with his and her arm wrapped around his waist. Her sleeping is fitful and comfortable for the first time in a while, so it's all the more annoying when she's woken by Ambrose speaking directly into her mind.
She's tired, and still processing what he's said, but she knows she won't like it once she does. So she grumbles and pulls Scott closer, if that's even possible, for the moment not even bothering to open her eyes.

As the hours have dragged on, Emma has tried very hard to find ways to 1) convince herself that she was not, in fact, abandoned here by Ambrose, and 2) calm herself down. Both have involved a considerable amount of work.
Currently she's working on the second goal, having dragged Manny (practically her child) with her to groom her horse, hoping that the repetitiveness will soothe something in her. It's hot enough outside that it's not doing much.
She turns to her ward, about to tell him to fetch some water when, very abruptly, it is not child Manny in his mind. It is real Manny. Her Manny. Emma drops the brush she'd been holding and practically slams into her companion with a tight hug.

Kitty is and always has been aware that she's the (almost, counting Jean) youngest member of Blue Team, and the smallest. This will never be something she's allowed to forget, by any of the older members. She's resigned to it now, and finds the occasional diminutives and condescension more endearing and annoying than truly grating.
It's still so much fun to appear older in a universe where several of her mentors and team members are in fact fully children.
Manny, for example, is currently playing piano at the bar while people mingle and put little coins in his jar. Kitty herself watches from the bar for a moment, then throws the dishtowel she'd been wiping glasses with over her shoulder. He's in need of a beverage. She returns moments later, strides over to Manny's piano, and plunks down a very tall glass of milk, the most child beverage there is.
"To help you grow big and strong, buddy." She tries for solemn, but ends up cackling just a little at the end.
The Arizona heat hits him first, which does little to ease Scott's dizziness after getting his soul(?) dragged across time and space and crammed into a new body. At least it doesn't feel too different—same eyes, same powers—and Scott collects himself. He's outside, in front of an wooden Old West-style building. Emma's alternate universe.
A young woman stands next to him, dressed in black. With the size of her hat, it takes a moment to identify her. "Illyana?" He frowns. "Is that you? You look—"
He's cut off by the sudden side shuffle of a huge chestnut stallion, who bumps right into Scott and knocks him into the dirt.

The sun is finally beginning to set, and one of the night’s favorite creatures finally feels bold enough to creep out from the shadows. A short figure in a too-big hat and coat is seen out of the corner of one’s eye, and then it’s gone aside from the scent of sulfur. Carefully stalking and crawling along walls until Marshal Summers is alone.
Glowing yellow eyes stare down at him from the side of the jailhouse, melting into the darkness until a surprisingly young voice whispers: “Scott. Look up.”

“What can I make for you, ma’am?” Kurt asks, a little too delighted to be tending the bar of Kit(ty)’s saloon when he hasn’t even cracked 5’5”. His tail’s a surprising asset behind the bar, and no one here asks for anything more complicated than liquor over ice. (Bobby must be around here somewhere.)
But he knows Emma, and he’s already prepping a whiskey neat, pouring the booze with his tail just to show off. In town he gets looks, but here he’s a known entity. “Everyone here thinks I’m twelve,” he says. “I would have loved a job like this when I was… ach, you know.”
The patter of his speech is a little odd, mostly American except when he forgets and mumbles something in German.

The distinctive sound of teleportation, followed by the less common racket of someone crashing into crates and boxes. A little bit of smashed glass, and a series of German curses. A wiry kid scampers out of the storage room and directly into someone so familiar and yet alien. Kurt stares up (up?) at someone who has to be Kitty.
“Katzchen!” He declares, hearing his own tween voice for the first time.

There are some benefits to being small again. It's easy to dance and dodge around the drunken crowds, even when some of them are howling at him to bring them refills. It also hadn't been too hard to creep around Wolf's Gorge itself, as long as he stuck to dense crowds, alleys and rooftops. He has a pretty good idea of the layout now, and even some of the important names. He spotted Scott and Illyana from a distance, but kept it at that.
All of that careful spying led him along the trail of one named Colton Sneekan. An outsider lingering around town, asking too many questions about what the marshal and his protege were up to. Their cases, their locations. Worst of all, he's in the saloon right now and his behavior isn't changing.
So Kurt ducks under another pair arguing about cards and appears in front of Illyana's table. He pretends it needs a good cleaning with a dirty rag. No point in explaining why he's a teenager, Illyana's not going to mistake him for anyone else. "Someone's looking for you."

This is, without a doubt, serious misbehavior, but it's hard to care when they're working in a memory that can't really be affected by their choices. After Kitty's encounter with Sebastian, they'd decided to make their way to his room at the inn to have a chat and see if he had any pertinent information. He didn't, and his complaints (the reason he'd been looking for Emma in the first place) were asinine and ultimately not this Emma's problem.
So after this brief discussion Emma had used her powers to banish him from his room so that she and Kitty could get up to some cathartic no good. And here they are, digging through his trunk filled with very nice clothes and pondering sampling a very nice bottle of whiskey.
"You know, he doesn't dress that much differently here than he does back home. Very dramatic of him." Says Emma, as though she is not prone to wearing dramatic outfits herself.

CHARACTER INFORMATION: Kurt
Character Name (1883): Kurt Adler
Appearance: Just 14, short (5'4"), and extra wiry. Patches of fur on his legs and torso have been burned away and replaced by scars, but he's still the same blue, shadowy little creature. Out in public he wears a big hat and a large duster jacket that mostly keeps people from noticing how odd he looks. At least at a distance. Does NOT have a German accent.
Occupation: Agent of the Hellfire Trading Company
Relationships: One of Emma's foundlings, and a troublesome one.
CHARACTER INFORMATION: Paige
Character Name (1883): Paige Guthrie (I am lazy)
Appearance: A few years older, but generally Paige looks the same. Still very country, still very bright-eyed and ready to learn and do good. Honestly, it'll be pretty hard to tell the difference except that, obviously, she dresses like she's in the old west.
Occupation: Junior Marshal (part of the X-Men task force)
Relationships: She's working under Scott, and is engaged to Some Guy.
CHARACTER INFORMATION: Remy
Character Name (1883): Remy Lebeau
Appearance: Generally like himself, although he is less concerned with hiding his eyes in a world where everyone is a mutant. I think he might have a lil poncho as part out of his outfit like so.
Occupation: Con man/thief
Relationships: Rogue's partner in crime, always.
CHARACTER INFORMATION: Rogue
Character Name (1883): Anna the Rogue (Still just Rogue)
Appearance: She's around the same age as she was at home, so a lot like herself. Her hair's longer, but the white streaks remain. A bit of a flashy dresser for the drama, long light tan leather duster, ruffled green blouse, and a big matching hat. She also wears green leather gloves mostly for propriety's sake.
Occupation: Bandit for hire
Relationships: Partners in crime with Remy, sometime rivals and also allies with Emma and her group.
CHARACTER INFORMATION: Warren
Character Name (1883): Roscoe "Dust Devil" McLaughlin
Appearance: A nice old grandpa.
DAY 1: THE ARRIVAL
DAY 1 | Evening - Emma & Illyana
So she's made her way into the saloon, happy to see a familiar face already there, outside of Kitty.
"Shall I buy you a drink?" she asks Illyana as she comes to a stop by her side. "I think everything here tastes terrible, but it shouldn't make you go blind at least."

She's tired, and still processing what he's said, but she knows she won't like it once she does. So she grumbles and pulls Scott closer, if that's even possible, for the moment not even bothering to open her eyes.
"Ambrose said we have to do something."

DAY 1 | Afternoon - Manny & Emma
Currently she's working on the second goal, having dragged Manny (practically her child) with her to groom her horse, hoping that the repetitiveness will soothe something in her. It's hot enough outside that it's not doing much.
She turns to her ward, about to tell him to fetch some water when, very abruptly, it is not child Manny in his mind. It is real Manny. Her Manny. Emma drops the brush she'd been holding and practically slams into her companion with a tight hug.
"Oh thank god."

DAY 1 | Evening - Kit(ty) & Manny

DAY 3 | Afternoon - Kitty & Emma
So after this brief discussion Emma had used her powers to banish him from his room so that she and Kitty could get up to some cathartic no good. And here they are, digging through his trunk filled with very nice clothes and pondering sampling a very nice bottle of whiskey.
"You know, he doesn't dress that much differently here than he does back home. Very dramatic of him." Says Emma, as though she is not prone to wearing dramatic outfits herself.
