I promised an update on Charles. I was hoping something would have changed from when he first fell comatose to now, but it's remained stable.

His mind is [...] empty. The closest thing it comes to is astral projection, but it's not that. At least not in any way that I've encountered it before. All his vitals remain on track, of course. I'm not sure how useful any more digging around on my part will be, but I'm going to keep checking in for changes.

No, it's not the best news. I wish I knew more what to make of it, but there's just nothing that I can find to go off of.

Astral projection normally leaves behind an anchor on the body. This is akin to that, but there's no anchor. Not even the wisp of one, from what I can tell.

Could another telepath have done something to him? Severed his consciousness?

Maybe? I don't have any experience with anything like that.

I'm also unsure of how that would relate to our marks.

I know. The marks make any normal accident unlikely.

Charles could have put them on us, I suppose. Somehow. But I don't know why he'd also have it, then.

If these are from him, I wish he'd chosen a more obvious clue.

Agreed. And to be clear, I'm just throwing out ideas. They remain as mysterious as his empty mind.

And we're back to square one.

Confirming that his mind is empty is new information, at least, even if it isn't particularly useful at the moment. It rules out someone mentally imprisoning him.

I'll accept that silver lining.
